I am honored to serve
the office of chair and hope to lead as well as the previous chairs and board
officers in the past. I feel confident in our ability to continually expand
and achieve higher goals due based on the strong supported of dedicated members
with many years of great experience, a true win-win situation. I have personally
mentored students for six years and served on the board for five years in
various roles. As a mentor, I have witnessed the impact of mentors, scholarship
opportunities, employment internships and positive career options on these
students.
All the members of the MMO board gladly volunteer their time, talents, and
energy towards being positive role models for the students and providing opportunities
to develop rewarding career paths. Our partnerships in the St. Paul and Minneapolis
Public Schools have allowed us to move closer to our mission of being be a
recognized leader in business-to-students mentoring in the twin cities metro
area.
The partnerships with the Twin Cites school systems improve the quality of
education, work force and community in one continuously positive improvement
process. The MMO board goal remains the same, to influence the students participating
in these programs to consider MMO member companies as they begin their professional
careers. We continue to seek ways to be successful in our programs and positive
in our influences.
The flexibility and adaptability of our programs and processes to the ever-changing
educational and business needs, makes it essential to thank the volunteers
who mentor, the businesses that support us, and especially the schools, teachers,
administrators, and parents who all work to help our youth. It is through
the efforts of this diverse group of unselfish people that our community has
made so much progress in the past seventeen years.
The board and myself want to sincerely thank our sponsors, supporting companies
and organizations for continuing to unselfishly contribute, support and work
towards the goals of enabling Twin Cities' students the opportunity to build
a stronger foundation for solving the problems that we are certain to face
in the future. Please join me in thanking everyone, and please continue to
show you pride and support for our volunteers as they strive to continually
serve as positive role models.
