Metropolitan Minority Outreach (MMO) is a nonprofit, all-volunteer organization founded in 1986. MMO's original goal was to increase the number of Twin Cities minority candidates for employment within the information systems field.

Today, MMO focuses on developing Twin Cities minority candidates for careers in all areas of business. To help develop and increase the number of minority candidates for business careers, MMO is:

  • Encouraging students to complete high school.
  • Enhancing students’ awareness of viable careers.
  • Increasing minority enrollment in college degree programs as well as vocational technical training programs.
  • Developing communications and relationships with recruiting sources for candidates from the Minnesota minority population.
  • Expanding the number of candidates from the Minnesota minority population for jobs in the Twin Cities area.

To ensure the success of these goals, the MMO board is proud to continue our partnerships with both the St. Paul Public Schools -Multicultural Excellence Program (MEP) and Minneapolis Public Schools - the College Encouragement Program (CEP) in Minneapolis. MMO is grateful for the mentors who give freely of their time, talents, and energy - all in the interest of the students, the community and our futures.
